Now that head coach Matt Rhule is gone, the Panthers are looking towards a new chapter. Number one draft pick Bryce Young will hopefully lead for years to come. Concurrently, Young is expected to be the Week 1 starter against Atlanta. He could get off to a 2-0 start on his way to winning Offensive Rookie of the Year. Young could one-up Cam Newton (6-10 as a rookie) by leading Carolina to the playoffs for the first time since 2017. Especially in an NFC South that has been up for grabs since the retirement of Tom Brady. Getting two prime-time sportsbook games reflects the national interest in the former Alabama quarterback.
Since 2018, Carolina hasn’t had more than one game under the lights. That was the last time it was on Monday Night Football. This season they face the New Orleans Saints on MNF in Week 2. In turn, that gives Young a chance to excel under the lights in his first home game for Carolina.
Young may only be a rookie, but star quarterbacks like him attract prime-time games (See Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes, etc.). Carolina had only seven prime-time games in the past five seasons. Following a team-record five in 2016 with Cam Newton. Newtwon was the quarterback coming off a trip to the Super Bowl.

Bryce Young is joining an offense with capable NFL betting odds talent. Indeed, the Panthers’ defense has some real difference-makers. Not to put too much pressure on the rookie, but this team can win the NFC South if he plays as advertised.
