The Arizona Cardinals will visit, on their NFL online betting season opener, a Detroit Lions, that according to Carlos Monarrez of the Detroit Free Press, are pretty much the same as last year. Those Lions did, unlike the 2015 team, post a winning record and reach the playoffs, but they did so by the skin of their teeth. According to head coach Jim Caldwell, the best that can be said about his roster is that they are healthy. Which is all well and good, but then again someone like, say, Blake Bortles is also “healthy.”

At Least You’ve Got Your Health
Actually, starting quarterback Matthew Stafford has more than just his health; after signing a $135 million extension with the Lions, he also has a boatload of money. According to the National Post, Stafford expects “great things from this team.” well, what more could you possibly want? Oh, he means football-wise. “Health is a factor, and timing and all those kinds of things, but we’re an extremely talented team,” Stafford said. “We’ve got great depth. We’ve built that through the draft and free agency. Brought in some front-line starters, some guys that are going to fill out our roster and really help us win games.” While the passing game is taken care of, the running attack leaves a lot to be desired. Detroit has been one of the worst teams in total rushing yards in the past three years.
The Lions have won six and covered in five of their last seven home games. The NFL online betting total has gone over in 10 of their last 13 meetings with the Cards.
The Chronicles of Reddick
Rookie linebacker Haason Reddick hopes to match Deone Buccannon’s impactful debut three years ago when he, Reddick, starts against the Lions in the Cardinals’ season-opening NFL online betting game. Arizona head coach Bruce Arians said the Temple product will take the place of the injured Buchannon in certain packages versus Detroit. “I’m excited, man,” Reddick said via the team’s official website. Meanwhile, defensive end Robert Nkemdiche’s status for Week 1 is unclear. “It feels good,” he said. “Now it’s between me and the coaches and the staff in there. I’m just trying to keep going forward, get healthier, and take it day by day.” Additionally, wide receiver John Brown said he was “feeling good enough” to play, and guard Mike Lupati was set to practice. Finally, rookie running back T.J. Logan was moved to injured reserve on Monday, from which he may or may not be activated later on, thus leaving the Cards with an open spot on the roster. Hopefully T.J. will be activated, because we all want to see Logan’s Run.
The Cards are 2-4 straight-up and against the spread in their last six road games. The NFL online betting total has gone over in Arizona’s last five visits to Detroit.
