Following an impressive end of season four-game NFL odds winning streak, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has never had a losing season. Rookie QB Kenny Pickett has had another year to develop. Additionally, the arrival of Joey Porter Jr. will instantly impact an already stalwart defense. In turn, gamblers expect the Steelers to make a run at the AFC North division title. But a lack of consistency on the offensive line has held the Steelers back since the end of the Ben Roethlisberger era.

For the first time in nearly a decade, the Steelers will open the online betting season at home. Specifically, Pittsburgh is hosting the San Francisco 49ers. Also, the team stays home for Week 2 against Cleveland on Monday Night Football. The matchup marks the first time since 1997 they have opened up with back-to-back home games.
The Steelers are also one of several teams to be featured on Thursday Night Football twice in the season. Correlate that status was permitted for the first time after NFL owners passed a new rule earlier this year. Although they’ll have two short weeks to prepare for the Tennessee Titans in Week 9 and the New England Patriots in Week 14. Also, the Steelers’ second mini-bye comes before a pivotal four-game stretch to end the season.
2023 Pittsburgh Steelers Offseason Moves
Perhaps the team’s decision to trade up in the first round to secure Georgia offensive tackle Broderick Jones is the start of a new era of success in the trenches. This is all part of a pattern in recent seasons. Specifically, Pittsburgh continues at the top of its draft board to build a foundation for the offense. In 2021, it was running back Najee Harris. Last year, it was Kenny Pickett. Now it is a blind-side blocker for the young quarterback. The NFL betting odds goal is to develop and contend simultaneously.
Although the Steelers’ line improved in the second half of the season, the organization made more moves to improve the group for 2023. Pittsburgh signed former Eagles starting guard Isaac Seumalo and depth-helpful Nate Herbig.
