Super Bowl betting choices include the side, the total, the money line and countless props.  The most popular wager is the side as most bettors just wager against the point spread.  Not nearly as many people wager on the total or the money line but props get more popular each year.

Money Line
As we look back into Super Bowl history we find that the money line has been a good bet.  It has been such a good wager in the Super Bowl that you don’t even get the value on the underdog that you should.  That makes sense though since there have been two huge winners on the money line in recent Super Bowl history with the Patriots winning outright as 14 point dogs against the Rams in 2002.  The Giants won as 12.5 point underdogs three years ago against the Patriots.  The sportsbooks are very wary about putting up a big money line in the Super Bowl as they almost always get one-sided action from bettors playing the dog. The value on the money line in this year’s game will probably be on the favorite but it won’t matter because gamblers just don’t like playing the favorite on the money line in the Super Bowl.

Total
Bettors love to play the over in the Super Bowl.  They usually parlay the favorite and the over.  Too bad it hasn’t worked very well in recent years.  Five of the last six Super Bowls have gone under the total. It would have been six straight if Pittsburgh had not gotten a late touchdown to beat Arizona a couple of years ago.  The Steelers won that Super Bowl against the Cardinals but they did not cover the spread so even in that game the favorite and over parlay lost.

Props
The list of props gets longer and longer every year on the Super Bowl.  You can bet nothing but props and have a great time.  You can start with the opening coin toss and be in action the entire game as you bet on Super Bowl options.  Props have truly made the Super Bowl even bigger in terms of Super Bowl betting.
