Last year, the Miami Dolphins had the AFC East Division championship in hand. However, the Dolphins imploded at the end of the season. The Buffalo Bills beat the Dolphins and the NFL odds to take the AFC East title on the regular season’s final day. Following that disaster, the Dolphins were rendered helpless by the Chiefs in a playoff loss at bitterly cold Kansas City. All of this left a bad taste in the mouths of gamblers. Now, concerns are rising that things may get worse for the Dolphins before they get better.

Gamblers Ask Where is Tua?
Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is said to have been absent from multiple workouts. Miami Dolphins GM Chris Grier has declared his support for Tagovailoa. Greer wants him around for the long term. But he did suggest that a contract extension might take some time to work out.
Now comes a sports betting report suggesting that Tagovailoa has stayed away from a good portion of the voluntary offseason program. Last week, the Dolphins wrapped up Phase Two of the offseason program. Next, two weeks of OTAs are to follow. Then the three-day June minicamp will close things out before the break that will precede the start of training camp in late July.
That NFL betting odds minicamp, from June 4-6, is the only part of the offseason program that is mandatory. Thus, an absence could lead to players getting fined. The media’s only viewing opportunity so far this offseason has been the rookie minicamp. However, a video put out by the Dolphins’ social media team showed Tua reporting on the first day of the program, April 15. Subsequently, there were shots of Tua throwing the ball on other days.
Previously, Tagovailoa said he wasn’t stressed out about the contract negotiations. He pledged to be around for OTAs. Tua is headed into the fifth NFL season. Concurrently, he is under contract after the Dolphins picked up the fifth-year option. That option calls for Tua to make $23.2 million in 2024.
Accordingly, Tagovailoa is looking for a long-term extension. There is no doubt that he noticed the contract the Detroit Lions gave Jared Goff recently. To illuminate, that contract is for four years and $212 million, with $171 million guaranteed. Consider that the annual average put Goff second among all NFL quarterbacks. Goff is behind only Joe Burrow ($55 million). Furthermore, the guarantee is the sixth-highest behind those of Deshaun Watson, Burrow, Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson, and Jalen Hurts.
