Week 6 Giants at Eagles Betting Odds and Preview

In this Week 6 of the 2015-15 NFL Regular season we have the Monday Night Football game on Monday the 19th of October 2015 with the Giants of New York 3-2 (NFC East) playing at their rival Eagles of Philadelphia 2-3 (NFC East) with the game being played at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at 8:35 PM ET and seen on ESPN TV.

For those that Bet on NFL football the early odds at the time of this writing were not available, but it’s likely the Giants will be favored. The Giants had a big game with a winning performance as the beat the 49ers on Sunday night. In their last game, the Eagles showed that their offense has finally come to life, and in this game against the Giants they need all the offensive momentum they can muster.

If you are a betting fan of the 3-2 Giants of New York, your QB E. Manning reached a milestone in the game, as he set a new record in the Giants record book as be the QB with the most victories in franchise history at 102 with the latest win over the 49’ers Sunday night at 30-27.

In that game nothing seemed to phase QB E. Manning after a 2nd quarter intercept, he finished the game completing 41 of his 54 passing attempts that gained some 442 yards and 3 touchdowns. To add to that he ran the ball for 11 yards in their drive that won the game. With that said he could have a big game against the Eagles in this Week 6 since the Eagles rank as one of the worst defenses against the pass in the NFL giving up some 280 yards passing each game. QB E. Manning will need the continued performance from his receivers if the Giants are to beat the Eagles on this Monday night as Beckham Jr. had 7 receptions and for 122 yards and 1 TD, RB Vereen had 8 receptions in the game for 85 yards and 1 TD.

Also to win it will be important that the Giants crank up their passing game early since their running game has struggled as their featured RB Jennings has not managed rushing for 50 yards yet this season. Since the Giants defense is lack luster they have allowed opponents to average some 385 yards in total offense which in the NFL ranks 27th. In the Giants ultimate 10 games against the Eagles they are with 3 wins and 7 losses straight up.

Then if you’re a fan of the 2-3 Eagles of Philadelphia that were a preseason pick, and their offense finally came alive this past Sunday as in the 1st quarter they trailed the Saints 7-0, and then rallied and outscored the Saints in the last 3 quarters of the game to win 39-10 and now have a 2-3 record as do 2 other teams in the NFC East this season.

You’re Eagles QB S. Bradford had 2 interception in the red zone, but still passed for 2 touchdowns, while RB’s R. Matthews an D. Murray each rushed for 1 TD. Murray had 20 carries for 84 yards while Matthews had 8 carries for some 74 yards.

In this game with the Giants the Eagles running game may be slowed down by the Giants who are one of the best rushing defenses in the NFL this season as they allowed in their games to date some 81 yards per game rushing, and that ranks at 2nd. They only are allowing opponent running backs to gain, an average of 3.4 yards each carry.

If the Eagles RBs Murray and Matthews have difficulties gaining ground, then the receivers will have to step up and score some points. In the last game receiver Huff caught 4 passes for 79 yards and had 1 TD. TE Ertz had 5 receptions for 45 yards and 1 TD.

If all goes well for the Eagles their QB Bradford could have a big game passing against the Giants as they are allowing some 305 passing yards each game to date.

True the Eagles pass defense has not been at its best to date in 2015, but they have forced some costly turnovers for their opponents. They are at 6 interceptions, 6th in the league and their CB has the ability to closely cover New York’s star receiver Beckham Jr. and they have CB Thurmond who leads the team with 3 intercepts. In the ultimate 8 games in Philadelphia the Eagles are 5 and 3 against the spread.

The sportsbook prediction in this game is that the Eagles have more talent than the Giants and thus will win the game to be tied with the Giants in the NFC East as both teams will be 3 and 3.
