Week one offers a phenomenal card for the NFL betting odds. On the whole, the league comes through with a strategically attractive schedule. One that will attract record TV eyeballs and betting handles. And it all begins with the traditional Thursday Night NBC kickoff. Specifically, the Dallas Cowboys, AKA “America’s Team,” visit the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Cowboys at Bucs

Dallas has become “Next Year’s Team” as a franchise that is over-hyped, overpriced, and underperforming. By contrast, Tampa Bay revealed their true sportsbook quality in the 2020 NFL Playoffs. And will be an even better team for 2021. Tampa Bay owns the confidence of a Super Bowl champion led by the GOAT of quarterbacks, Tom Brady.

Steelers at Bills

Perhaps the best matchup on the Week 1 card is the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Buffalo Bills. Consider both were division champions last year. Pittsburgh may have found the best and most immediate fit of any team in the 2021 NFL Draft. Specifically, the Steelers took Alabama running back Najee Harris in the first round. Harris ends the Steelers’ search for a bona fide replacement of LeVeon Bell. Further, Pittsburgh uses a similar terminology and offense to what Harris played with at Alabama.

Meanwhile, the Bills took a major step into top-tier contender status in the AFC last year. Cause by fortifying their defense on the Draft weekend. Quarterbacks Ben Roethlisberger of the Steelers and Josh Allen of the Bills will man the marquee.

49ers at Lions

Will it be Jimmy Garoppolo or Trey Lance under center for the San Francisco 49ers? Namely, Dan Campbell will make his head coaching debut for Detroit. So too, Jared Goff is the new Lions starting quarterback after being dealt by the Rams.

Jets at Panthers

The new-look New York Jets have a rookie head coach (Robert Saleh) and fresh quarterback. First-round draft pick Zach Wilson is tasked with transforming the Jets. The Jets will open their season at the Carolina Panthers, who have a new quarterback (Sam Darnold) that used to be the Jets’ QB. Indeed, it’s interesting how the NFL put that together for a Week 1 matchup.

Jaguars at Texans

Newness and change will be seen in Houston, where the Texans will host the Jacksonville Jaguars. More emphatically, two rookies will debut for the Jaguars. Head coach Urban Meyer and quarterback Trevor Lawrence, the first overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Browns at Chiefs

Can Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns keep it going after finally making the Pro football betting playoffs last year? Correlate their Week 1 matchup at the Kansas City Chiefs. Cleveland almost upset the Chiefs at Arrowhead in the 2020 AFC Playoffs. Subsequently, Kansas City fans and gamblers remain concerned about the repaired turf toe of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Packers at Saints

The New Orleans Saints will begin life without Drew Brees as they host the Green Bay Packers. Of great concern is the new Saints QB Jameis Winston.

Sunday Night Football

Bears fans are hoping rookie Justin Fields will start at QB for Chicago at the LA Rams. Above all, we’ll get a look at the new LA quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Monday Night Football

Monday Night Football features only one opening game this year. However, it’s a good one, as the Las Vegas Raiders host the Baltimore Ravens.
