Carolina and the Rangers have two of the best coaches in the NHL. Carolina head coach Rod Brind’Amour has turned down less money to stay with the Hurricanes. And he has been masterful at manipulating his lineup and engineering a suffocating defense. In like manner, Gerard Gallant has turned the Rangers into a winner with the NHL betting odds. New York rallied from a 3-1 deficit to beat Pittsburgh in the first round. That comeback was a testament to Gallant’s superb motivational skills. Now the Rangers will have to come back again after blowing game one.
