Last year the Colorado Avalanche was a hot favorite with the NHL betting odds to win the Stanley Cup. When Colorado took a 2-0 series lead over Vegas, they were planning parade routes. Despite the forced resignation of coach Joel Quenneville, Florida hasn’t missed a beat. The Panthers are 14-4-3 and battling Toronto for the top spot in the Atlantic Division. On the whole, Florida has shown great balance. Consider the Panthers rank 2nd for goals scored and 5th for goals against.

Fashion Tampa Bay is the two-time defending Stanley Cup champion. And the Lighting retains the core of their lineup that hoisted hockey’s Holy Grail. Most important of all, the Lighting boasts the NHL’s top goaltender in Andrei Vasilevskiy. Never underestimate the NHL betting value of a team that knows how to win a championship not once but twice.

At the onset of the season were concerns about the departure of Marc Andre Fleury to the Blackhawks. Fleury wasn’t just the number one goaltender for Vegas. Accordingly, he was the face of the franchise from its berth. Robin Lehner has been inconsistent as the new top netminder. Fleury and Lehner were better together as partners.
Toronto Maple Leafs +1100
Last year the Leafs were among the victims to the upstart Montreal Canadiens. And they spent all summer hearing about it. Toronto is off to a 16-6-1 start. But what is most fascinating is that they rank 3rd for goals against. At the same time, Toronto is 19th for goal scoring. Such is the look of a serious championship contender.
