Blues on Cusp of Cup with NHL Betting Odds Sunday vs. Boston

Stanley Cup Final Game 6 Boston Bruins vs. St. Louis Blues

To begin with history beckons Sunday night in St. Louis.  If the Blues can beat the Boston Bruins in game six the Stanley Cup will be hoisted at the Enterprise Center.  Born in 1967 and known for having hard luck St. Louis has never been this close.  Thursday’s 2-1 NHL Betting online win by the Blues was perhaps their most impressive of the series.  Although the Bruins outshout St. Louis 39-21 they appeared to be off their game most of the night.  In the meantime, goaltender Blues rookie goaltender Jordan Binnington was at his very best.

Stanley Cup Final Update

Now St. Louis can clinch the Stanley Cup with a win in this game Sunday night.  Should Boston win they will force a seventh game at TD Garden on Wednesday.  While game five had some questionable officiating calls the Blues were the better team.  Boston did themselves no favors with constant whining and complaining about the officiating.

Binnington Forms a Wall

On the whole Jordan Binnington was an impenetrable rock in the fifth game win.  The rookie has emerged as a top tier Conn Smythe Trophy candidate as playoff most valuable player.  Binnington was the top NHL Betting online asset of game five with 38 saves on 39 shots.  So too did the St. Louis netminder add to the frustration of Boston.

Unraveling Bruins

At the beginning of this series Boston had the well-deserved Online betting reputation for dominance.  And in games one and three they displayed that characteristic with impressive wins.  Counter to that is the fact that the Bruins have lacked consistency.  In many ways the Blues have taken them out of their game.  Subsequently Boston appears surprised about how resilient the Blues are.  Add in some blown calls by the refs and you have an unfocused team.

Berube Schools Cassidy

To begin with, at the onset of this series St. Louis coach Craig Berube still carried the “interim” tag.  Berube took over the team in November after the firing of Mike Yeo.  At first the team continued to flounder and was in last place on January 3.  Last place as in the worst record in the entire NHL.  But Berube has worked magic ever since.  Most important of all he has devised a superior game plan against Boston.  Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy is yet to break the code.  In like manner Boston’s best players have been rendered helpless much of the series.

Pressure Point

Starting with a shot at the hoisting the Cup in front of their long-suffering fans do the Blues face enormous pressure.  St. Louis doesn’t want to go back to Boston for a seventh game.  Therefore, by contrast the Bruins face elimination with a loss.

Matchup to Watch

On this occasion a night like no other in the Blues 52 years is at hand.  St. Louis fans will be crazed with Stanley Cup fever.  Home ice should be the NHL Betting online matchup advantage.  St. Louis has won three of their last four at home against Boston.
