Series Update

Now the winner of this seventh game will advance to the Western Conference final.  So far, the road team has posted four NHL Betting online wins out of the six playoff contests between the Blues and Stars.

This Bishop is No Pawn

Namely Ben Bishop of Dallas and Jordan Binnington of St. Louis have proven to be the reasons for the season.  Neither the Stars or Blues would have reached the playoffs without their top netminders.  Bishop is a 32-year-old veteran that began his NHL career at St. Louis in 2010.  Overall Bishop made his name as top goaltender for the Tampa Bay Lightning when they made the Stanley Cup Final in 2015.

Binnington Pulls the Lazarus

When rookie Jordan Binnington took over in goal for the St. Louis Blues in midseason, they were already pronounced dead and buried.  Certainly, last place in the entire NHL at that time was cause for good reason.  Yet Binnington has done the impossible.  Not only did he backstop the Blues to the playoffs but he may have finally solved a goaltending question that goes back decades.

A Tale of New Coaches

Concurrently both the Stars and Blues feature first year head coaches behind their respective benches.  Jim Montgomery came to Dallas from the college ranks where he won a national championship at Denver in 2017.  Montgomery brings his own credibility as a former NHL player.  Regardless of never having been an NHL head coach Montgomery has been the perfect fit at Dallas.   Consider the Stars can make their first Conference Final since 2008 with a win in this game.

Craig Berube took over as interim head coach of the Blues facing a nearly impossible situation.  In view of guiding the Blues from last place to a game from the Conference Final it is expected that Berube will soon get a new contract as full time coach.  Most important of all he put desire and structure back into the Blues.   They are now a coveted sportsbook value.

Matchup to Watch

At the beginning of this game there will be talk about home ice being an NHL Betting online advantage.  Yet Dallas has won four of their last five games at ST. Louis.  In the same way home ice matters most in a game seven.  Beyond that the Blues have a deeper lineup when it comes to goal scoring.
