Canucks tested in road to Stanley Cup Odds Finals

Canucks tested in road to Stanley Cup Odds Finals. The team finished with a record of 49-28-5 (103) points and wrapped up the Northwest division with ease. But such overwhelming success in the NHL betting regular season also puts a tremendous amount of pressure and bulls eye on their back in the road to the Stanley Cup betting finals.Vancouver was tested to the limits in its first game of the NHL playoff betting but managed to weather the storm and emerged with a 3-2 OT win vs. the LA Kings in the first game on their path to hopefully reaching the Stanley Cup odds action.

The #6 seed Kings gave the Canucks all they could handle.  It wasn’t until 8:52 in OT that Vancouver finally sealed the deal with a Mikeal Samuelsson goal, off an assist from superstar Henrik Sedin, that the Canuck fans breathed a collective sigh of relief.

The Canucks now lead the series 1-0 and their Stanley Cup betting dreams are still safely intact.  Not that an opening game loss would have knocked them out of the Stanley Cup odds chase, but with so many upsets occurring in the first round of the NHL playoff betting this year the Canucks were on high alert and have to be pleased not to become another sports betting headline.

But with players like Sedin and Robert Luongo in goal the Canucks have plenty of reason to be confident.  Sedin, the regular season scoring leader in the NHL betting action, had a superb evening on the ice scoring a goal and dishing out the game winning assist.  Luongo, arguably the best goalie left in the quest for a Stanley Cup odds berth, was decent, but far from superb in stopping 25 of 27 shots. There are still a lot of games left to play before reaching the Stanley Cup odds action, but the Canucks are off to a good start.
