Caps are a huge Stanley Cup Betting Favorite

It’s hard to believe that the NHL betting regular season is over and the Stanley Cup betting season is just around the corner. The 2009-10 NHL wagering action was some of the most exciting in years and the NHL playoff betting promises to be just as interesting.  But one team emerged from the regular season as huge favorites in the Stanly Cup odds and it will take a tremendous effort to oust the Washington Capitals from the NHL postseason wagering.

The Caps got off to a bit of a slow start but by mid-season had established themselves as the team to beat in not only the East, but the entire NHL betting competition.   The team finished the NHL regular season betting action with a record of 54-18-13.  The Caps’ 121 points was far and away the best in the NHL and makes them the early favorites to win the Stanley Cup betting competition.

It’s been a long time since this team was featured in the Stanley Cup odds and even longer since it was the favorite to actually win the Stanley Cup betting competition.  But since the arrival of superstar Alex Ovechkin the team has re-written the hockey betting rules and anything seems possible for this franchise.

Ovechiken is the currently the best player in the NHL and the only thing missing from his stellar resume is trip to the Stanley Cup betting competition and more important than simply making the finals, a Stanley Cup odds victory.

With help from fellow countrymen and NHL All star Alexander Semin and line mate Nicklas Backstrom, the Caps far and away the most dangerous offense in the NHL betting.  And it’s that offense that will very likely carry them to the Stanley Cup betting finals.  The team’s 318 goals were far and away the best of any team during the regular season hockey betting and there hasn’t been a defense in the NHL wagering competition that can stop it.
