Chicago Sweeps Away San Jose in Stanley Cup Odds

The Chicago Blackhawks swept away the San Jose Sharks in Stanley Cup odds in four straight games. The Blackhawks will now play in their first Stanley Cup Final in 18 years and they will be favored in Stanley Cup betting.

Stanley Cup odds didn’t favor Chicago at the beginning of their series against San Jose but it quickly became evident that the Sharks were not going to win that series.  The Blackhawks were the more talented team and the tougher team.  Chicago won the first two games of the series on the road and then they completed the sweep by winning the next two at home.  In Game 4 they actually trailed 2-0 before coming back to win 4-2. Dustin Byfuglien scored his third game-winner of the series.

The Blackhawks last won the Stanley Cup in 1961.  Fans at the United Center in Chicago will be going wild when the Stanley Cup Finals begin.  The last time Chicago was in the finals they lost to Pittsburgh in 1992 in Stanley Cup odds.  Not many Chicago players even remember that far back.

Chicago dominated San Jose in the Western Conference Finals in Stanley Cup betting.  The Blackhawks even came from behind to win a game as in Game 4 it was looking for a while like San Jose might win.  The Sharks led 2-0 in the second period but things turned around after the second San Jose goal.  Defenseman Duncan Keith was hit in the mouth by a puck and lost seven teeth.  Just minutes later defenseman Brent Seabrook scored to cut the lead to 2-1. Late in the second period, Dave Bolland scored his fifth goal of the playoffs to tie the game. Byfuglien scored the game winner in the third and Kris Versteeg got an empty netter for the final margin of victory.

The Blackhawks played well against San Jose as they beat the Sharks in Stanley Cup odds but they believe they can be better.  That is a good attitude to have as the Stanley Cup Finals begin.  The Blackhawks will have home ice advantage in the finals and they will be favored to win the series.  The Blackhawks were the second seed in the Western Conference and they will be far more respected than the team from the Eastern Conference.
