Coyotes Top Oilers in NHL Betting Thriller

Coyotes Top Oilers in NHL Betting Thriller. It what many thought would be hockey betting afterthought the Edmonton Oilers actually put up a fight before going down to the Phoenix Coyotes in a hockey wagering shootout. On Saturday April 3rd the home team Coyotes earned a win against the visiting Edmonton Oilers with a goal in overtime giving a thrilling finish to an NHL wagering matchup that provided anyone who made a hockey bet on this game a great deal of entertainment.

Shootouts have become more and more common in the NHL betting competition and for better or worse this recent development has provided a resolution to games that was lacking before and made placing a hockey bet on the NHL games a much more interesting proposition.  On Saturday the hockey betting fans got their money’s worth and then some.  And anyone that bet on the Oilers to pull off the upset in the hockey odds action nearly got their wish.

The Oilers (26-46-8) are not only the worst team in the Western Conference hockey betting but it’s also the worst the entire NHL –and by quite a wide margin.  Edmonton has just 60 points through 80 NHL wagering contests and seems to get worse with every game.  The second worst team in the NHL betting action has 72 points.  But the Oilers came out fighting during this April 3rd hockey wagering showdown and for awhile looked as if they might leave the desert with 3 points and a win against the NHL odds.

The Coyotes (49-25-6) drew first blood with a goal just 3 minutes into the hockey betting action but the Oilers responded with a tying goal in the closing minutes of the first period.  The Coyotes knocked in another goal in the second period of the hockey wagering action only to see the Oilers score another tying goal with just over 5 minutes left in the 3rd period.  But when it came down to grabbing points in the NHL betting standings the Coyotes proved the better team and added three points their impressive point total.
