Hockey Bet on New York Rangers at Atlanta

Hockey bet favors Atlanta at home on Friday as they host the New York Rangers. It is not an easy hockey betting spot for the Thrashers since they played at Columbus last night.  Here is a look at this matchup between two teams fighting for a playoff spot.

Hockey bet has seen the Thrashers win six of the last ten against the Rangers in this series.  The teams have met three teams so far this season and Atlanta has won each game. They won 3-2 and 5-3 in New York and they pulled out a 2-1 win in Atlanta.  Seven of the last ten in this series have gone under the hockey bet total.  That may not happen in this game considering the Thrashers have been going over the total on a regular basis this season.

This is really a huge game for both teams on Friday. They are both right in the mix for the last few playoff spots in the Eastern Conference.  Things are so tightly bunched between 6th and 10th place that things change on a daily basis.  The Rangers have actually been a better team in hockey betting on the road than at home.  In fact, their home record may end up costing them a playoff spot if it doesn’t improve. The Rangers still don’t score enough goals to win on a nightly basis and that is a concern in this matchup against the Thrashers.  New York does have Henrik Lundquist in goal and he is capable of being the difference for New York in this game against the Thrashers.

Atlanta is similar in some ways to the Rangers and different in others. They are similar because they struggle at home more than they should.  Atlanta has been nothing special on home ice for those that make a hockey bet.  The Thrashers are different than the Rangers though because they can score. Atlanta is in the Top 10 in offense but they can’t stop anyone.  That means that most of their games at home go over the hockey bet total.  If the Rangers get any offense, that could happen in this Friday matchup.  The Thrashers have been a team that you can normally trust to bet over the total although they don’t have a superstar scorer.  The Thrashers don’t stop the puck though and Johan Hedberg is not considered a star goalie.
