Hockey Betting – Canucks Win Game 7 in Overtime. The Vancouver Canucks finished with the best record in the league but they were taken the distance in the first round in hockey betting before getting past the Chicago Blackhawks. Vancouver won Game 7 on Tuesday night in overtime as they defeated Chicago 2-1 to cover the NHL hockey betting odds at the Sbg global sportsbook.
Canucks Win Series 4-3
Vancouver nearly blew a 3-0 series lead against Chicago but they got a goal from Alex Burrows to beat the Blackhawks in overtime in Game 7. Burrows scored 5:22 into overtime as the Canucks outlasted Chicago in NHL hockey betting. The Canucks had shut out Chicago for almost the entire game until Chicago’s Jonathan Toews scored a shorthanded goal with just under two minutes left to tie the game at one. Burrows went from hero to goat back to hero again in Game 7. He scored the first goal of the game but he took a penalty in overtime that nearly cost his team the game. Patrick Sharp was stopped on the power play by Vancouver goaltender Roberto Luongo and not long after it was Burrows who scored the game winner.
Crawford Was Brilliant
Vancouver should have won Game 7 very easily but they were stymied by Chicago goaltender Corey Crawford. The Canucks probably should have been winning 3-0 or 4-0 late in the game but it was just 1-0 thanks to the great play of Crawford. He didn’t have much of a chance in overtime though as Chris Campoli made a bad turnover and Burrows rifled a shot into the top corner of the net.
Luongo was Okay
Many people will say that Vancouver goal tender Roberto Luongo was great but in reality he was just okay. He stopped the shots he was supposed to stop but he was nothing special. Vancouver dominated the game and if not for Crawford they would have won easily. Luongo had 31 saves and played well but he didn’t do anything out of the ordinary.
Canucks Now Face Nashville
Vancouver will be heavy favorites in the second round as they take on the Nashville Predators. In fact, the Canucks may be more of a favorite in hockey betting than they were against Chicago since not many people give Nashville a chance.
