Hockey Betting Dallas at Calgary

Hockey betting fans will have a western conference matchup to bet on hockey with Friday as the Calgary Flames host the Dallas Stars.Hockey betting optimism is high in Calgary as the Flames won their first two games and appears to be a strong team to bet on hockey with. The Dallas Stars are going through the hockey betting growing pains of learning the new system of a new coach. Marc Crawford arrived to jump start the lethargic Dallas attack and although its too early to make any firm conclusions his system seems to be taking shape and could make Dallas a dangerous team to bet on hockey with.

In the Stars hockey betting opener against the Nashville Predators, Dallas peppered them with 40 shots on goal which is definitely Crawford’s style of play. Dallas did not win for those who bet on hockey with them in that opener but only because Nashville goaltender Dan Ellis turned in a phenomenal hockey betting performance in stopping the barrage of pucks.  The final score was 3-2 Nashville in a hockey betting shootout thriller. Crawford was encouraged with the hockey betting performance.

“I thought we took the game to Nashville when we started using our size and strength and depth we have through our lineup,” said the coach.  “If we get that kind of effort, on most nights we’ll be successful.”The Calgary Flames also have a new coach for the 2009-10 hockey betting season in Brent Sutter, who has been charged with tightening up the Flames leaky defense from a year ago.  Many hockey betting observers believe if Sutter is successful at getting better defensive play, Calgary can be a threat to go deep into the post season.

So far the hockey betting results have been mixed for the Flames as Miika Kiprusoff faced a total of 76 shots in the first two games but was up to the task as Calgary escaped with wins in each game as the goaltender turned aside 70 of those pucks.  Sutter and the Flames stated that they want to be the top team in hockey betting for goals allowed this year. This is the second of a three game western Canada swing for the Stars while Calgary will hit the road after this one.
