NHL Betting – Canucks and Predators Series Tied 1-1. Goals have been tough to come by in the NHL betting series between the Nashville Predators and Vancouver Canucks. That doesn’t figure to change as the series moves to Nashville for Games 3 and 4. Make your NHL bet right now at Sbg global.com
Pekka Rinne
There is no question the best player in this series so far has been Nashville goaltender Pekka Rinne. He has simply been brilliant and is the reason that the Predators are even in the series. The Predators were shut out in Game 1 although Rinne clearly was the best player on the ice. He was fantastic again in Game 2 and finally Nashville got a goal with just over a minute left to tie Vancouver 1-1. The Predators then won the game in double overtime as Matt Halischuk scored. Rinne made some fabulous saves in the overtimes to give the Predators a chance. Rinne made 18 of his 32 saves in the two overtimes. Vancouver players said that Rinne simply stood on his head and stole Game 2.
Roberto Luongo
The Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo made 44 saves in Game 2 but many of his saves were routine. He has played well but Rinne has been spectacular. The goal that Nashville got to tie the game was actually one that Luongo should have stopped. There are still some questions about Luongo and if this series comes down to goaltending then the Canucks are at a disadvantage because Rinne is simply better.
Series Moves to Nashville
The Predators will now try and keep home ice advantage as the series moves to Nashville for Games 3 and 4. The Canucks are still favored to win the series but if they don’t find an answer to Rinne they could be in trouble. The Predators definitely have momentum heading home but in this year’s NHL playoffs the road teams have done very well in NHL betting.
Will We See a 4.5?
With the first two games of this series easily going under the total the question becomes whether or not we will see a total of 4.5 in this series. It seems likely considering in the first two games the teams have combined to score a total of four goals. It is sure hard to make an NHL bet on the over the way these two teams are playing.
