Canucks Power Play Explodes
Vancouver and San Jose were actually playing a tight game until the third period on Wednesday when the Sharks lost discipline and gave up four third period goals.  The Canucks scored three power play goals and two other goals were scored just after power plays ended.  Daniel Sedin had two power play goals as Vancouver ran circles around the pathetic Sharks.

Sharks Played Stupid
The mistakes that San Jose made in Game 2 were ones that simply can’t be made by a championship team.  Patrick Marleau got credit for his fight with Kevin Bieksa but it was his rotten defense that allowed Bieksa to get a breakaway goal that turned the game around.  San Jose’s Ben Eager committed boneheaded plays all night and was in the penalty box far too often.  Eager has five minor penalties and 10-minute misconduct. San Jose lost their composure in the third period and against a team like Vancouver that has a lot of skill that is bad news. The Canucks dominated the Sharks on the power play and it got ugly.  The Sharks had 53 minutes in penalties and they are now down in the series 2-0.

Will San Jose Recover
If you listen to San Jose head coach Todd McLellan you have to wonder as you make an NHL bet if the Sharks can recover from their beat down.  McLellan said that the Canucks had more battle in their game than the Sharks in Game 2.  How can that happen for a team that lost Game 1?  The Sharks have gotten strong play from Joe Thornton and rookie Logan Couture but far too many other players have taken this series off.  Marleau and Eager got a lot of the blame for the Game 2 loss but the worst player in this series for San Jose has been Joe Pavelski who was directly responsible for both of Vancouver’s goals in Game 2. Unless Pavelski and the rest of the team step up in Game 3 this NHL betting series is over.
