Stanley Cup Betting – Eastern Conference Playoff Matchups

Stanley Cup Betting – Eastern Conference Playoff Matchups.  The NHL playoffs begin on Wednesday and Stanley Cup betting odds are on the board at SBG.  You can make a Stanley Cup bet on any of the eight series, the individual games, plus you can bet on which team you believe will win the Stanley Cup. Here is a look at the Eastern Conference matchups.

(8) New York Rangers vs. (1) Washington Capitals
The Rangers snuck into the playoffs as Carolina blew their chance losing to Tampa Bay on Saturday. Now that the Rangers are in they may be able to do some damage.  They do have to play the top seeded Capitals but this is a good matchup for New York. They won three of the four meetings this season so this may not be a sure win for Washington.

(7) Buffalo Sabres vs. (2) Philadelphia Flyers
The Flyers really have not played well down the stretch and they are no guarantee to beat the Sabres. The Sabres have the edge in goal and Buffalo comes into this series playing better. The teams split their four meetings this season and all four games went over the total.  Gamblers making a Stanley Cup bet are definitely looking at Buffalo in this series.

(6) Montreal Canadians vs. (3) Boston Bruins
What a great first round matchup this should be in Stanley Cup betting.  These two long time rivals don’t like each other so this serious should be hard hitting and fun to watch.  This should be a low scoring series as both teams have top goalies.  Montreal has Carey Price while Boston has Tim Thomas.  Montreal actually won four of the six matchups between the teams this season.  Surprisingly the over was 3-1-2 in the six games.

(5) Tampa Bay Lightning vs. (4) Pittsburgh Penguins
It is very unlikely that the Penguins will get Sidney Crosby back for this series so that means Pittsburgh will have to win with defense. The Lightning has the edge on offense since Crosby and Malkin are out for the Penguins. If Pittsburgh is to win this series then it will come down to goaltender Marc Andre-Fleury outplaying Dwyane Roloson.  If the Penguins don’t get great goaltending they are not going to win this series. The teams split their four meetings this season and the over was 2-1-1.
