If the first round of the Stanley Cup betting is any type of indication we should be in for some very exciting hockey betting in the weeks ahead. The first round of this year’s NHL playoff betting was some of the most exciting we’ve seen in years with several of the series going a full seven games and plenty of the hockey betting matchups ending in upsets.
Now that the field has been set for the second round of the Stanley Cup odds competition the only thing left to do is put on your seat belts and enjoy what should be one of the most interesting second rounds of the Stanley Cup betting competition in a long, long time.
In the East there are several intriguing matchups. This conference is now wide-open after the upstart Montreal Canadiens knockout the Stanley Cup betting favorite Washington Capitals.
The amazing effort by Jaroslav Halak has transformed the #8 seed Habs into a Stanley Cup odds juggernaut and any NHL betting fan would have to think twice about betting against the Canadiens in the hockey odds.
And for any NHL playoff betting fan that thinks the Habs don’t have the fire power to get past the star-studded Pens in the East, the series is now tied at 1-1 through two games; anybody’s series right now.
The other series in the East, the Flyers versus the Bruins is probably the ugliest of the NHL playoff betting matchups right now and it doesn’t seem like either of these teams will be hosting Lord Stanley’s Cup this season.
Once these two teams are done beating each other up there won’t be much left for the next hockey betting series, the Eastern Conference Finals.
In the West there are some interesting hockey betting matchups as well. After limping through the first round of the Stanley Cup odds competition the Sharks have now come to life and lead a very good Red Wings team 2-0 in the best of seven series, with the winner just one series away from the Stanley Cup betting finals.
Vancouver vs Chicago is also another series that could go either way and both of these teams’ Stanley Cup betting dreams are still very much alive.
