Hockey bet has Tampa Bay completing the first part of their schedule with the New York road trip as they face the Islanders on Saturday and the Rangers on Sunday.
Tampa Bay has split the last ten hockey betting meetings against the Islanders. Hockey bet has seen Tampa Bay win all three meetings against the Islanders this season. Tampa won 4-0 and 5-2 at home in hockey betting while they won 4-2 at New York. The last two hockey bet games between the two teams have gone over the total.
Tampa Bay is fighting for a playoff spot this season and they have a real chance to make it. One of their problems though is a pathetic road mark. The Lighting have just nine road wins in hockey betting this season and that is simply not going to get it done. Tampa has been good at home but unless they improve that road record they could slip out of a playoff spot.
Looking at the stats it is simply amazing that Tampa has a winning hockey bet record at all. The Lightning really don’t do anything particularly well as they are 20th in goals scored and 20th in goals allowed. Martin St. Louis leads the team in scoring while Antero Nittymaki is the top goalie. Usually when you look at hockey bet stats you can figure out why a team wins but with Tampa it remains a mystery as to how they are over .500.
Until a couple of weeks ago the Islanders looked like a playoff team. A long hockey bet losing streak has taken care of that. New York now appears that they won’t make the playoffs again unless something changes. The Islanders are okay at home in hockey betting but nothing special while on the road they have really struggled. New York really doesn’t have enough positive stats to make the playoffs. They are 29th on offense and 25th on defense and those are simply not winning hockey bet numbers. It was looking like a possible surprise season for the Islanders but it now looks like a typical one where they don’t make the playoffs again.
Both teams could be looking toward the Olympic break so the winner of this game could be the team that is more focused. That might be the Islanders simply because they are at home.
