Bookmaker – Bears at Vikings on Monday Moved Outside.  The Minnesota Vikings host the Chicago Bears on Monday night but when you look at the odds at the bookmaker you want to keep in mind that the game will not be played at the Metrodome.

It will be played outside at the University of Minnesota’s TCF Bank Stadium.  The Vikings have quarterback issues with Brett Favre and Tarvaris Jackson injured so the Internet bookmaker may wait until the weekend to post odds on the game. The Vikings were pathetic last week against the New York Giants when they played at Detroit’s Ford Field.  The Metrodome’s roof collapsed because of heavy snow which forced the Vikings to move last week’s game to Detroit.

This time around Minnesota has chosen to play outside at the University of Minnesota’s TCF Bank Stadium.  It should be interesting at that stadium since it has never hosted a pro football game.  Workers were removing snow from the field and the stands this week and other preparations were underway. One thing we do know about that the game is that it will be bitterly cold.  Since it is a night game on Monday the temperature is going to be about 8 degrees.  The wind chill will make it feel like zero.

Anniversary
It is strangely appropriate that the Vikings will be playing outside on Monday night.  It will be 29 years to the day since Minnesota last played outside in Minnesota.  It was the final game at the former Metropolitan Stadium in Bloomington.  The Vikings lost that game to Kansas City in the finale at the old Met. TCF Bank Stadium has a seating capacity of about 50,000 but whether the capacity will be a problem is in debate since people won’t want to brave the cold weather for a Minnesota team that is out of the playoff picture.

Vikings 4-9 ATS
Normally with Minnesota playing outside you would have to take a shot at the bookmaker with the Vikings but this year’s team is simply not very good.  Minnesota did get a brief shot in the arm with the firing of Brad Childress as they won two straight against the odds at Sbg global but that ended last week in a disgraceful 21-3 loss to the New York Giants.  The Bears are used to playing in the cold and they simply have the better team this season.
