Online Bookmaker respects Chicago’s Jake Peavy. Peavy is a former Cy Young award winner and he could the key player for the White Sox this season. Chicago is a co-favorite with Minnesota to win the American League Central in offshore betting odds. Online bookmaker odds favor Peavy and the White Sox in the second game of the season as they play the Cleveland Indians. Peavy said he is ready to go for Chicago’s second game of the season. “I feel just the same as I have my whole big league career. You come to spring training and you just try to get through it healthy.” Peavy came to the White Sox late last season in a trade from San Diego. The key for Chicago will be keeping Peavy healthy.
“I’m excited to start this chapter of my career,” Peavy said. “I’m part of something that we hope is going to be special and we believe in the group that we have assembled. We believe we can accomplish some cool things, and that starts with winning the (AL) Central.” Peavy was 3-0 down the stretch last year for Chicago with a 1.35 ERA.
Chicago had a disappointing season a year ago as they finished below .500. Normally a team won’t go from a losing record to a division title the next season but the American League Central is not a strong division. It also helps that the White Sox have a former Cy Young winner to go behind Mark Buehrle in the rotation. In fact, Chicago could have one of the best starting staffs in the league with Buehrle, Peavy, John Danks and Gavin Floyd. With Carlos Quentin healthy this season and Gordon Beckham ready for another big season, the White Sox are poised to be favored a lot by the online bookmaker.
Chicago was 7th in the league a year ago in ERA and with Peavy in the rotation those numbers may get even better in 2010. If Chicago can improve their offensive numbers which slipped somewhat last season, they can be a force in baseball offshore betting. Having Quentin healthy is a huge part of that equation. Overall, the White Sox have the potential to win the American League Central this season and impact online bookmaker odds all year.
