NL East Baseball at Online Bookmaker Remain Tight. One of the most competitive divisions in terms of baseball online bookmaker odds is the National League East. There are three teams that have a real shot of winning the division and perhaps four if you include the Florida Marlins. The offshore betting baseball odds are really tight on all four contenders in this division.
Online bookmaker odds slightly favor the Atlanta Braves to win the division. The Braves have the lead in the National League East but the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies are very much in the picture. The Marlins are not that far out of contention.
The National League East has a lot of talent as half of the position players who were elected to start in the All-Star game are from this division. The division is so competitive that the teams just beat up on each other. The Mets are 18-18 against the rest of the division while the Phillies and Nationals are both 15-15 against the division. The Marlins and Braves are within a game of .500 against the division. Each of the teams in the division has a superstar starting pitcher and some teams have more than one. How will each team in the division do in offshore betting in the second half of the season?
The Braves are playing for manager Bobby Cox who is retiring at the end of the season. The Braves have a solid starting pitching staff led by Tim Hudson. Closer Billy Wagner has found his form at age 38 and overall the Braves don’t give up a lot of runs. The concern for Atlanta is the offense. Jason Heyward has had a solid rookie season but he has been hurt. Troy Glaus has found the fountain of youth but that may not last. Chipper Jones looks like he is through. The Braves have some offensive concerns and they may not be able to hold off the Phillies in the NL East Baseball division.
The Phillies have been hurt by injuries but they still have a lot of talent. When they get Chase Utley and Placido Polanco back they should make a run at the Braves. The Mets have been a surprise as they are right behind the Braves. New York should be getting Carlos Beltran back and he would be a major help to their lineup. The Mets have some questions in the pitching staff and in the lineup but if everything stays together they could stay in contention. The Marlins have Josh Johnson and Hanley Ramirez which means they will have their moments but overall the team probably lacks the depth to contend for a playoff spot.
