Online Bookmaker – Rockies Shell Out Big Money Again.  They have shelled out a lot of money this off-season including on Monday when they signed outfielder Carlos Gonzalez to an $80 million dollar extension.  The Rockies are 20-1 in offshore betting at Sbgglobal to win the World Series.

Gonzalez Had MVP Numbers
Last season Gonzalez had excellent number for Colorado and he was actually in the MVP discussion.  He didn’t win the award as it went to Cincinnati’s Joey Votto but Gonzalez did get some votes and finished third. He hit .336 last season with 34 home runs and 117 RBIs.  He won the National League batting title.  Gonzalez will now be under contract through 2017.

A couple of months ago the Rockies signed All-Star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki to a $157 million dollar contract over the next ten years.  They also signed lefty Jorge De La Rosa to a $21.5 million dollar two year deal.  And Colorado still has Ubaldo Jimenez who is one of the best pitchers in the league.

Rockies Have Value
Colorado has some good value at 20-1 at the online bookmaker. The Rockies have everything it takes to make a run at the World Series.  They have some exciting young players in the batting order and some studs in the pitching rotation.  The Rockies also made some nice off-season moves. They added Ty Wigginton and Jose Lopez who should give them even more depth on the infield.  Lopez could be a steal as he is coming off a subpar season with Seattle.  He is still in the prime of his career and could turn into a great player hitting in the thin air of Colorado.  The Rockies also added pitcher Matt Lindstrom from Houston and he should provide good support in the bullpen.  Colorado plays in a very winnable division in the National League West. The Rockies can definitely compete with San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles.  The Giants will still be good but the Padres are going to be much worse while the Dodgers have a lot of problems.  The division is there for Colorado to win in offshore betting and once a team gets into the playoffs anything can happen as the Giants proved last season by winning the World Series.
