Georgia Has What it Takes for 3-Peat in 2023

College Football gamblers have taken notice of a massive change in their sport. Specifically, there’s a new king in college football. Namely, that new reign is led by a former Alabama assistant and current Georgia head coach Kirby Smart. For most of Nick Saban’s College Football Betting tenure at Alabama, the path to a national championship has gone through Tuscaloosa. And Smart was at his side for many of those runs. But after the past two years, a changing of the guard has officially taken place. Indeed, College football’s path to the title now runs through Athens.

2023 Georgia Bulldogs Preview

Correlate that Smart is a recruiting machine and knows the state well. As a former Bulldog player, he is living a dream. Certainly, a 3-peat as national champion won’t be easy for the Bulldogs. But Georgia is the overwhelming online betting favorite to win it all in 2023. It is true that both sides of the ball lost key talent. Yet it is hard to worry too much with a roster that’s loaded with blue-chip talent.

Offensive coordinator Todd Monken will be missed. But former UGA QB Mike Bobo has head coaching and OC experience. Bobo isn’t expected to stray too far from the game plan that transformed Georgia’s offense into one of the best in the SEC.

Meanwhile, Carson Beck left spring practice as the College Football Betting frontrunner to replace Stetson Bennett at quarterback. The QB will have the nation’s best tight end, Brock Bowers, at his disposal. Consider that Beck worked as the backup to Stetson Bennett IV and impressed in limited action last year. That is why he will likely begin 2023 as the No. 1 quarterback.

The receiving corps was the weakest link on last year’s championship squad. However, the arrival of transfers Dominic Lovett from Mizzou and RaRa Thomas from Mississippi State gives the Bulldogs more weapons. Of great concern is that Smart lost another wave of stars from a suffocating defense. Still, gamblers don’t expect this unit to miss a beat. The next group of standouts is ready to make its history.

The 2022 version of Georgia’s defense wasn’t as nasty as the 2021 version. However, last year’s group still suffocated opponents, limiting them to 14.3 points per contest. One wave of 10-star talent has departed. Namely lineman Jalen Carter, linebackers Robert Beal Jr. and Nolan Smith, defensive backs Kelee Ringo, and safety Christopher Smith II. But another host of blue-chippers is ready to emerge.

Consider Mykel Williams is an emerging superstar and the next Georgia defender to create constant havoc in the trenches. Also, Jamon Dumas-Johnson and Smael Mondon Jr. are two of the best linebackers in the SEC. Perhaps the biggest task for Smart in fall camp is finding running mates for Dumas-Johnson and Mondon off the edge.

Safety Malaki Starks is among the top defensive backs in the nation. Additionally, cornerback Kamari Lassiter and safety Javon Bullard show why gamblers believe 2.
