The Oregon Ducks are going to look different this college football season but that doesn’t mean they can’t win vs. the online betting odds. They will not have suspended quarterback Jeremiah Masoli who was kicked off the team but the Ducks still have a lot of talent and can win vs. Internet betting college football odds in 2010.
Online betting odds indicated that Oregon went 10-3 last season but just 7-6 against the point spread. The Ducks might not win as many games this season but they could be better against the pointspread without Masoli. Head coach Chip Kelly said that Masoli was dropped from the team because he didn’t live up to obligations. Masoli was already suspended for the season but he would have had a year of eligibility remaining.
Now it seems unlikely he will ever play college football again. Masoli was cited on Monday on charges of possessing less than one ounce of marijuana in addition to other violations. Masoli had a great season a year ago throwing for 2,147 yards and 15 touchdowns but he was suspended for his role in a campus burglary.
Oregon had a successful season a year ago until losing to Ohio State in the Rose Bowl. Oregon was 8th in the country in points scored a year ago and they may slip somewhat this season. The quarterback job at Oregon looks to go to Nate Costa although redshirt sophomore Darron Thomas has looked good. The running game will be handled by LaMichael James although he will not play in the season opener against New Mexico. He was great last year running for 1,546 yards on 230 carries for a 6.7 yards per carry average. Kenjon Barner is also a good one as he averaged 6 yards per carry. The team returns all three starting wide receivers in Jeff Maehl, D.J. Davis and Lavasier Tuinei, who combined for 100 receptions, 1,146 yards and eight touchdowns. They will miss tight end Ed Dickson though as he was great a year ago. They are hoping that junior-college transfer Brandon Williams can take his spot. The Ducks return their entire offensive line so they are going to score and impact Internet betting odds. The Oregon defense is loaded with talent although they do have to replace two starters on the line.
