This Wednesday the 3rd of March through Saturday the 6th of March 2016 we have the pleasure of having the World Golf Championship – 2016 Cadillac Championship with the tournament being played at the TPC Blue Monster course at the Doral in Doral, Florida. The tournament for those that Bet on Golf at SBG sportsbook features some of the World’s finest golfers, and the purse for the event is $9.5 million. Now fans are wondering what players have the best opportunity to win this 2nd PBA WGC event of this season. So let’s take a look at the possibilities.

First let us start with the standout favorites with the 1st being B. Watson who at this Doral course he has experienced a big change since the course was redesigned back in early 2014. A native of Florida Watson thinks the changes were an improvement for him as he since has had 2 finishes in the top 3, with a 2nd place finish in 2014 and in 2015 a 3rd place finish.

Now he not only performs well at the Doral Blue Monster, but also lately has had 4 finishes in the top 15 in the 6 tournaments he entered this season, and just won the Northern Trust Open. Yes, this tournament has some of the World’s best golfers, but Watson has the momentum on his side coming into this match, along with his experience and solid performances since the course has been redesigned.

Then we have another favorite in D. Johnson, whom we are not overlooking as he is last year’s 2015 Champion at this WGC-Cadillac Tournament. Similar to Watson, D. Johnson has played this redesigned course and the changes seemed to work in his favor as he also finished 4th in the 2014 event. This season he already has 2 finishes in the top 5 and 4 events where he finished in the top15 and that also included his Northern Trust Open strong 4th finish. With a great performance record at this Doral Blue Monster and a strong performance to date he could become the first back-back winner of this event, since T. Woods had 3 straight wins here in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Next we have a couple of sleepers and the first is A. Scott as this Australian player as of late has had a hot streak, as he comes off a great 9 under par win this past weekend at the Honda Classic, and to date in his six starts this season has 2 2nd place finishes and 4 finishes in the top 10 to date. He’s a former World No. 1 and his finish on Sunday at the PGA National speaks well for him, and this week this Doral Course is similar to the Honda Classic golf course. Here at the Doral he has had strong performances with the new designed course, and the 3 years hence, he has a 4th place finish and 2 in the top 25.

Last season Scott struggled in his games, but this season he’s a different players with his revived passion for golf and recent changes in his game strategy have given him incredible results to date.

Another sleeper is H. Stenson who’s last win in a PGA event was more than a year ago, but as of late he has mingled in the European tour and in his ultimate 5 starts he finished 4 times in the top 6, and that should allow fans to know that presently he has a very strong game working and watch his action in this event.

This will be Stenson 1st start in a U.S. Tournament this season as he plays at this Cadillac event at the Doral and he indicates that he is really excited about his 1st start and at the ‘Blue Monster’. Stenson of Sweden last year in this event tied for 4th place with Scott and in 2014 in this event he finished at 16th. He has never been known as a long driver, which could be problematic for him in this Cadillac Championship event at the Doral, but remember he is very accurate in his short game, and his talented precision in his golf game could give him a victory in this at this Tournament on Sunday the last day of the event.

Then last but not least there is a long shot in B. Koepka who has been nominated as a sleeper in practically all of the events he enters, but this time we placed him a the status of a long shot for this tournament, even as he has had some good performances on this ‘Blue Monster.’

Last season he has a 17th finish at this Cadillac Championship event and in his ultimate 5 starts he has finished in the top 10 some 3 times. He also appears to be primed for the tournament this week, but with the talent present for this event, the Palm Beach, Florida native Koepka will need more than the home crowd cheering him on to win this Doral event and stay with the top players this week. So the 25 year old FSU graduate golf star will be seeking his 1st PGA tour victory this weekend.

The online betting prediction for this 2016 WGC 2016 Cadillac Championship will see none other than A. Scott continue his talented and victorious season continue as he wins this tournament at the “Blue Monster.”
