2024 Florida State Seeks Return to College Football Playoff

2024 Florida State Seeks Return to College Football Playoff

Mike Norvell has proven to be the College Football Betting answer as head coach at Florida State. At the onset of his arrival, Norvell inherited a nuclear waste dump. Attitudes were bad, and there were plenty of locker room lawyers. But Norvell broke through with a 10-3 season in 2022. Following that was a 13-1 campaign in 2023. Most fans believe that Florida State deserved to be in the College Football Playoff. Instead, it was Alabama that got the call. Hence, it is something that FSU fans will never forgive or forget. But the good news is that Norvell’s program has been validated.

2024 Florida State Seminoles Preview

Florida State will have online wagering plenty of questions to answer early on. But a favorable schedule should benefit the Seminoles through the first month of the season. The Seminoles have improved their record in each of coach Mike Norvell’s four seasons with the program. It would not be a surprise to see this squad make a run to another ACC championship. Additionally, they will contend for the College Football Playoff. Especially with the field being increased to 12 teams.

Head coach Mike Norvell faces the tough task of replacing one of the best quarterbacks in program history (Jordan Travis). Also, the Seminoles lost their leading rusher (Trey Benson), top two wide receivers (Keon Coleman, Johnny Wilson), and most productive tight end (Jaheim Bell).

FSU welcomes Oregon State grad transfer DJ Uiagalelei to bridge the gap at QB. Meanwhile, youngsters such as Brock Glenn and Luke Kromenhoek mature. Uiagalelei’s experience and arm offer FSU a path to another playoff run. Hence, expect plenty of deep passes as the offense looks to stretch the field.

The offensive line has combined for 190 starts at the FBS level 123 at Florida State. That College Football Betting experience up front will serve Uiagalelei well. In turn, he will build chemistry with an array of skilled players.

Namely, Kentron Poitier, Ja’Khi Douglas, and Hykeem Williams are among the returning receivers. Alabama transfer Malik Benson looks primed to play a big role alongside LSU transfer Jalen Brown. The running back room doesn’t have an established star. But it’s a talented group from top to bottom. The tight ends are a wild card. Specifically, there are three of last year’s top TEs no longer on the roster.

Defensive coordinator Adam Fuller has plenty of holes to fill. But he has established a solid nucleus of up-and-coming players who are ready to take the next step. Overall, Florida State should be able to lean on the defense while the offense assimilates its new pieces early in the year.

All-America returner and Indiana transfer Jaylin Lucas joins one of the most experienced kicking rooms in the country. Additionally, there is Australian punter Alex Mastromanno and redshirt senior Ryan Fitzgerald. Special teams will be a strength once again in 2024.
