New Generation of Baseball Stars Lighting Up Online Wagering

December 13th, 2021 Online Wagering

Baseball betting has been the national pastime for over a century but with the rise of the NFL and NBA betting popularity over the past few decades the popularity of baseball has been in steady decline during the age of online wagering.

But that might be changing, or least the slide is stopping, thanks to a fresh new crop of baseball betting talent that has drawn a lot of interest in the sports betting community and has seemed to make a lot more people interested in making an online wager on MLB betting contests.

The biggest name in baseball right now, young or old, is Washington Nationals rookie pitcher, and the number one overall draft pick in last year’s MLB draft, Steven Stasburg.  Strasburg is the type rookie and overnight sensation that baseball gurus and online wagering companies have been waiting for.  He is singular talent that has the potential to not only become the new face of the MLB odds action, but also attract many new sports betting fans to online wagering.

Strasburg has been as good as any rookie in the online wagering has ever been.  He’s 2-0 in two MLB odds contest starts with 22 Ks and ERA slightly over 2.0.  He plays on a rotten team, to be sure, but if keeps playing well, the Nats could finally become a desired entity in online wagering.

But Strasburg is hardly the only good young player to take the diamond in this year’s online wagering season in the MLB action.  Jason Heyward of the Atlanta Braves is an impressive young power hitter who’s on pace to crush 30 HR and drive in 100 runs this season, something that a rookie almost never does.  He’s another reason why the online wagering fans are excited about baseball once again and the reason why the Atlanta Braves are atop the NL East online wagering standings.

The Florida Marlins also have a pair of young baseball betting studs in 1B Gabby Sanchez and RF Mike Stanton.  Sanchez is right behind Heyward in his power stats and has a much better BA (.285 vs. 261).  But perhaps the best position player in rookie class of online wagering stars is Stanton whose power shots in the minors were legendary and who got off to a great start in the MLB odds action going 3-5 in his debut.
