NFL Online Wagering Spotlight: Big Developments In From the 2011 Draft. Each year the NFL hosts it annual draft and every year the selection process is of huge interest to online wagering fans. However, this year, may very well have been the wildest draft ever.

To start with, this year’s draft took place prior to the free agent signing period meaning that teams’ had more needs than usual and were quite uncertain as to whether to they’d be able to fill them in free agency and this led to team’s reaching for certain players to an extent not seen in the past.

For example, four QBs (three in the top ten) were taken in the first round and in most years perhaps only one of the four QBs taken would have graded out as a first round talent.  However, because of the uncertainty teams felt like they had to take a risk at the position.

And while it’s still too early to know which of these players and the others taken in the draft will be a success or not, it’s evident that certain teams come away from the draft much improved for the 2011 NFL online wagering action.

Two teams that horrendous 2010 seasons but drafted well over the weekend are the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Browns.  Both from Ohio, both from the AFC North, these teams need a lot of help and likely got it in the draft.
Anyone that made an online wager on the Bengals last year lost their shirts.  But with QB Carson and WR Chad Ochocinco on their way out Cincy did a great job replacing them with QB Andy Dalton (2nd round) and WR AJ Green (1st round) who was the best player in the draft according to many NFL online wagering experts.

The Browns finished showed glimpses of brilliance in the ’10 season but still had too many holes to consistently make an online wager on this team.  However after making a shrewd trade with the Falcons in the first round and grabbing two solid anchors on the DL this team will be much improved heading into the ’11 season.  The team also picked up to very nice receivers in WR Greg Little and TE Jordan Cameron.

It will be interesting to see how the free agency plays out but these two AFC North Rivals have greatly improved their chances in the 2011 NFL online wagering competition with successful drafts.
