Online Wagering Spotlight on Elections Betting

December 10th, 2021 Online Wagering

In the US, as in most countries, we love to bet and we love online wagering. And the beauty of wagering online is that the odds and the betting can be tailored to just about any event that involves some type of competition.  With the rapid communication now available online and the growth of the Internet betting industry it seems like betting lines for just about anything can be produces and accessed almost instantly.

One of the newest developments in the wagering online industry is the growth of political betting.  This is especially popular in long established democracies like the UK and the US.  The UK just held national elections and to the delight of many people who engaged in wagering online during this election there was a dark horse winner and the underdog in the betting odds actually took the election.

Similarly in the US the betting season on election is fast approaching and online wagering interest is growing rapidly.  Every election in the US is important, or at least seems that way, and this year is no different as it’s an election year in the Senate and plenty of important seats are up for grabs.

This fall’s election is seen as a popular mandate for the Democratic Party and more specifically a vote on President Barak Obama’s first two years in office.  And of course the online wagering handicappers have been hard at work stringing together odds for just about every national race of major importance and even the races that really don’t matter all that much.

As the Republican Party tries to regain control of one or both houses in Congress the wagering online sites are keeping tabs on the results of the recent primaries in many states across the US as well as the handful of primaries that are yet to come.

So the results have been mixed and since primaries are contested only with the Democratic or Republican Party these online wagering contests have only featured incumbents versus intra-party challengers and things have remained relatively tame.

However, once the primaries are sorted out and both parties pick their candidates for the general elections in the fall, you can sure the online betting sites will be flooded with political betting lines and plenty of interest from online wagering fans.
