Harvick Wins at Michigan with Double-Digit Online Wagering Odds. It is hard to say that an upset happened in NASCAR online wagering when the point’s leader wins a race, but that was the case on Sunday as Kevin Harvick outlasted Denny Hamlin to win at Michigan. It was the third win of the season for Harvick. He was not the favorite at online wagering Companies but he delivered for gamblers who took a shot with him.
Online wagering odds listed Harvick at about 12-1 which was well back of the favored Jimmie Johnson. Harvick was able to get the win on Sunday as he stayed out on the track instead of making a pit stop during a late caution. It worked out well as he held off Denny Hamlin for the win. Carl Edwards finished third and he was followed by Greg Biffle and Matt Kenseth.
Some drivers in the Chase did not have good days. Kurt Busch blew an engine, Jeff Gordon got a flat tire and Mark Martin had early troubles. Gordon ended up finishing 27th, Martin 28th and Busch 40th.
The key point in the race came with 32 laps left when most leaders made a pit stop. Harvick and Tony Stewart stayed out and with 11 laps left, Harvick got past Stewart and took the lead. Stewart couldn’t stay with Harvick and slipped to sixth.
With the victory vs. NASCAR odds at online wagering companies, Harvick clinched a spot in the Chase for the Sprint Cup. He is the first driver to clinch a spot although many of the others in the Top 10 are in good shape. Jeff Gordon is in second place and he is followed by Hamlin and Stewart. Jimmie Johnson fell to fifth place. He is followed by Jeff Burton and Carl Edwards who are tied for sixth. Kyle Busch is 8th in points followed by Matt Kenseth, Kurt Busch, Greg Biffle and Clint Bowyer. The top 12 in the standings make the chase so the focus is on 12th place. Bowyer currently has a 35 point lead over 13th place Mark Martin. Ryan Newman is probably out of it as he trails Bowyer by 103 points.
NASCAR online wagering for this week is at Bristol for the Sharpie 500 on Saturday in a race that will be televised by ABC.
