The college football betting season is just starting to get interesting and there are a number of the top power conferences that are stocked with talented teams this year.
As always the ever dominant SEC is at the top of the list of BSC conferences and the Big-10 is making some noise early this year as well. But the truth of the matter might be that Pac-10 is the best conference in the NCAA wagering online action this year. The SEC has had a strangle hold on that title for the past four years and it still might be the best conference from top to bottom but not by much, if at all.
The Pac-10 right now trials the Big-10 and the SEC in terms of total number of teams ranked in the top 25. The SEC and Big-10 have 6 ranked teams at the moment whereas the Pac-10 has 5. But each conference has only 1 legitimate national title contender at this point in time. The SEC boasts the defending college football online betting champ, Alabama #1; the Big-10 has Ohio State #2; and the Pac-10 has the University of Oregon #5 which might just be the best team in the country.
Neither the Pac-10 nor the Big-10 have any other teams ranked in the top 10 and the SEC has just one additional team (an over-rated Florida squad at #9). And a quick glance across the rest of 17 ranked teams from these three super conferences reveals very little in terms of quality and depth.
But the Big-10 appears to be over-rated as it has been almost every year for the past half decade and in recent battle between the Pac-10 and Big-10 revealed, at least on that night which was the better wagering online conference. Last week the Arizona Wildcats #14 knocked off a highly touted Iowa squad that subsequently dropped to #18 in the polls after being ranked in the top 10.
One game is a small sample size and hardly proves a point but when #24 Oregon State of the Pac-10 travels to the Blue Turf to take on #3 Boise State this weekend we’ll get a much better look at how the Pac-10 teams matchup against the best teams in the college football online wagering action.
