Online Wagering – Congressional Races Could Provide a Good Sport

Online Wagering – Congressional Races Could Provide a Good Sport. Elections in this country have always been good sport and so it only makes since that you can now bet on the outcomes of these wild races. You can bet as you would any other sporting event thanks to the recent developments made in the world of online wagering.

And with primary season coming to a close in most states and the general election season just a month or two on the horizon many difficult electoral battles and betting lines are starting to take shape.

The second Tuesday after the first full week in November is always Election Day in the US.

Why our leaders couldn’t establish a more complicated system for determining voting day is unknown, but sufficient to say elections are always early in November and that means that the online wager service providers have just a little over two months to lay out the betting lines and handicap all the races going on across the country.

This, perhaps more so than many other years, is a very important election cycle.  President Obama –a long shot at the beginning of the 2008 election cycle- the winner of the spoils in the last national election online wagering competition has been in office for two years now and retains control of congress.

There is wide speculation that an anti-incumbent fervor sweeping the nation will hand control of Congress back to the Republicans and strip Obama of some of his power. This would also mean than the Congress would block virtually any law or plan of action he could try to implement.

And the Congressional elections will indeed be the focal point of this year’s elections.

Sure, there are many important state-level elections such as though for Governor and Attorney General, but the only races that people in the online wagering community should be paying attention to are the national congressional seats which could re-shape the face of power in Congress.

This year the online wagering action on Congressional seats should be especially interesting as a third party, the Tea Party, has been making plenty of noise and pushing its own candidates.  The action is contentious enough when just the two principal parties are involved but when a third, outsider party if you will, jumps in the fray you can be sure that things will get even crazier.

So if you’ve ever thought about betting on election outcomes, but thought the process a bit boring, think again, because this year it should one helluva ride as we head down the electoral home stretch.
