Mine That Bird’s sire is Birdstone who loved distances. Mine That Bird’s Dam is Mining My Own who was unraced. Mine That Bird’s second dam, Aspenelle, finished second in the Canadian Oaks at nine furlongs. The pedigree for Mine That Bird looks a lot better for the Derby and the Belmont than it does for Preakness Stakes wagering.
