As you look at Preakness Stakes there is a bet you may want to consider. It won’t be widely publicized but there will be a special daily double in Preakness odds that has the previous day’s Black-Eyed Susan to Saturday’s Preakness.
Preakness betting gives you a lot of choices but the special double from Friday to Saturday is interesting. You get to play the two biggest races on Preakness weekend for the cost of a single bet. A normal daily double has you playing the first two races of the day or sometimes you will see a late daily double. With this special daily double you get the Black-Eyed Susan on Friday and you get the Preakness on Saturday.
With a daily double you are looking to pick the winner of both races. And while you can take just a single horse in each race, it is sometimes tough to pick the winner of both races without taking multiple horses. There are actually a few ways play the daily double. You can just pick a single horse in each race and it won’t cost you much. You could choose to single a horse in one race and then key that horse with a number of other horses in the Preakness. Let’s say you like the favorite in Black-Eyed Susan.
You can take that horse and key him to a number of horses for Saturday’s Preakness. Another option has you boxing horses in both races. You might take three horses on Friday and three on Saturday. It was a $1 double this would cost you $9 (3×3). If it was a $2 double then the cost would be $18 and in the case of this special double it will be a $2 minimum bet. Keep in mind that the Black-Eyed Susan has a post time on Friday, May 14th of 5:50 pm Eastern so your special double wager in Preakness odds will have to be in before that time.
The special daily double on Preakness betting weekend is great because you get to watch both big races. You might want to increase your action on each day with some other exotic wagers. There is an early pick four on Preakness Day that covers races five through eight. The late pick four that includes the Preakness Stakes is for races nine through twelve. That late pick four has a guaranteed $1 million dollar pool.
