Online sports betting had Anthony Kim on the board for this week’s PGA Tour event in Los Angeles. It is the first event of the season for Kim and he is a longshot in offshore sports betting at about 40-1. Phil Mickelson is the 5-1 favorite this week for the Northern Trust Open which starts on Thursday.
Online sports betting last season had Kim winning two tournaments, at Quail Hollow and Congressional. He made it up to #6 in the World rankings at one point as online sports betting stats showed. Although Kim had a successful offshore sports betting season, he wants more. “After the year I had two years ago, even though people said it was a breakout year, I don’t feel like I did anything super special,” Kim said, “I would like to do something super special this year.” The focus for Kim this online sports betting golf season is on winning. “Win golf tournaments,” he said. “Nobody cares if you finish in the top 10.”
Kim did not play in the Bob Hope Classic instead choosing to play in Abu Dhabi. He was not worried about pulling out of the Bob Hope though since he believes the PGA is world-wide. “We’re trying to grow the game everywhere. It’s not just about the PGA Tour,” he said. “If golf grows on the European Tour, in Asia, that only helps the PGA Tour. That’s where I wanted to start my season.”
Kim was criticized for skipping the Hope but he has not let it bother him. Scott McCarron was one of the ones who criticized Kim and McCarron has been making all kinds of news lately with his criticism of the PGA Tour and Phil Mickelson.
