Sportsbetting has seen the Milwaukee Bucks struggle at times this season and things may not get any better since the team has lost guard Michael Redd for the season due to a knee injury. Redd tore the ACL and MCL in his left knee in a sportsbetting online loss to the Lakers on Sunday.
Sportsbetting on the Bucks has been up and down this season but in the Eastern Conference the Bucks are still in the playoff race even though they are below .500. The loss of Redd could hurt in sportsbetting as he was one of the few players on the team that could score. It is the second time that Redd has had this injury. “I’m shaken. You never expect it to happen and it happened again,” Redd said, “Today has been a very hard day. But I’ve had incredible encouragement from my teammates. I’ll get through it.”
Redd had struggled for much of this sportsbetting season as he was averaging just 11.9 points in 18 games. “We are deeply disappointed for Michael who worked so hard to make it back from this injury,” general manager John Hammond said. “Although Michael is out for the season, we still have over half the season to play. That gives all of our players, especially our younger guys, the opportunity to earn more playing time the rest of the season.” Redd was a star player for the Bucks in the past but in the last two seasons he has struggled with injuries. He has missed 152 games over the past four years.
In theory, it would seem that the Bucks would really miss Redd in sportsbetting since he has been a great scorer in the past. In reality, the Bucks have been better off without him in sports betting. Milwaukee was 6-12 this year when Redd played and 9-8 without him. Sportsbetting online stats indicated that Redd is simply no longer the player he once was. He was a second-round pick by Milwaukee in 2000 and his Bucks reached the Eastern Conference finals in his rookie season. He has averaged 20.3 points per game for his career. Sportsbetting online has him at fourth on the franchise’s career scoring list with 11,510 points.
Milwaukee is 15-20 straight up but 19-16 against the sportsbetting online odds this season. The Bucks are 10-8 versus the sportsbetting line at home and 9-8 on the road.
