Online sports betting has not been very successful on Connecticut lately in college basketball and it may not get any better with the news coming out that head coach Jim Calhoun is taking a medical leave of absence. The Huskies have really struggled lately so it will be interesting in offshore sports betting to see how they react to losing their head coach.

Online sports betting had seen Connecticut lose their last three games.  The Huskies started the season strongly but they have fallen apart in recent games.  “It is my recommendation that Coach Calhoun take a medical leave from his coaching position to address some temporary medical issues, none of which involve any previous medical conditions that he has dealt with,” Calhoun’s doctor, Peter Schulman said.

The Huskies were voicing their full support behind Calhoun. “Our primary concern is Coach Calhoun’s health and his complete recovery.” Athletic director Jeffrey A. Hathaway said, “We will do everything possible to support Coach during this time. Jim and I both know that the men’s basketball program is in very capable hands under the leadership of associate head coach George Blaney.”

Calhoun is 67 years old and has dealt with cancer issues in the past.  Offshore sports betting had it that none of the previous conditions are the reason for this leave of absence.  Calhoun has had his health issues recently as he missed a game last March due to dehydration and he was in the hospital in June after breaking his ribs. Online sports betting stats have Calhoun with a career record of 816-348. Offshore sports betting had him already in the college basketball Hall of Fame.

Online sports betting had seen it be a tough time recently for Calhoun at Connecticut.  There are questions regarding Connecticut’s recruitment of former player Nate Miles and the latest losing streak is something that is very rare at Connecticut.  Online sports betting had Calhoun in the final year of his six-year contract. It was thought he would sign a new deal but these health issues raise some doubts about that now.

Connecticut is going to be in the online sports betting spotlight now. They host St. John’s on Wednesday in what is now a must-win game in online sports betting and then they have a high profile offshore sports betting game on Saturday against the top-ranked Texas Longhorns.
