The last week in of the NFL regular season in sports betting should be more exciting in 2010-2011 as the NFL has scheduled all divisional games for Week #17. That should mean more competitive sports betting online matchups in the final week of the regular season.
Sports betting odds in the last week of the NFL regular season are sometimes tough to predict. Teams already in the playoffs will sometimes rest players while other teams out of the race may go with younger players. The NFL is trying to do something about that last week being non-competitive. Last season the Indianapolis Colts pulled their starters in Week 16 against the New York Jets and went on to lose the game.
The Colts also lost their regular season finale at Buffalo in a game in which few of their starters played for very long. The Cincinnati Bengals also kind of tanked their last regular season game against the Jets since they had nothing to play for. The NFL is hoping that divisional games will alleviate some of the problem with teams not giving a full effort in the final week.
Week #17 has some interesting divisional games on the schedule. A key NFC East game in Philadelphia has the Eagles hosting the Dallas Cowboys. Washington hosts the New York Giants in the other NFC East game in Week #17. The AFC East is expected to be competitive this season and it could come down to the last week in sports betting online when Miami visits New England. Buffalo is at the New York Jets in the other AFC East game. The AFC South has Jacksonville at Houston and what could be a very important game as Tennessee is at Indianapolis.
The two games in the NFC South are Tampa Bay at New Orleans and Carolina at Atlanta. The AFC West has Oakland at Kansas City and a potentially huge game as San Diego is at Denver. NFC North games have Cincinnati at Baltimore in a matchup of two potential playoff teams and Pittsburgh at Cleveland. The NFC North games are Chicago at Green Bay and Minnesota at Detroit. NFC West games have St. Louis at Seattle and Arizona at San Francisco.
The final week of the 2010 NFL season definitely should be more competitive than last season in sports betting with all divisional games.
