Sports betting will have two-time defending champion Egypt facing Ghana in the final of the African Cup of Nations. Egypt rolled over Algeria 4-0 in an ugly game on Thursday as Algeria was down to eight men.  Ghana was just able to slip by Nigeria in Internet sports betting 1-0 to advance.

Sports betting had Hosni Abd Rabou scoring on a 37th-minute penalty for Egypt while Mohamed Zidan scored to make it 2-0.  Mohamed Abdel Shafy made it 3-0 in the 80th minute while Mohamed Gedo scored in injury team. Rafik Halliche, Nadir Belhadj and goalkeeper Faouzi Chaouchi were all sent off for Algeria. Egypt is now unbeaten in the African Cup of Nations in their last 18 matches. Internet sports betting showed that the last team to beat Egypt was Algeria back in the 2004 tournament. This sports betting match on Thursday was ugly and police were all over the place to keep rival fans apart.  In November, three Algerian players were injured after their team bus was attacked by Egyptian fans. Algeria beat Egypt to qualify for the World Cup.

The Internet sports betting match at the African Cup of Nations was nothing like the World Cup qualifier.  Egypt totally dominated in this Internet sports betting match. Halliche was gone just 10 minutes into the match and Rabou took advantage of the penalty and scored for Egypt. Algeria was shorthanded for almost the entire match so the only suspense was the final score.  Zidan scored in the 65th minute while Abdel Shafy took a pass from Zidan for the third goal while Gedo scored late.

Asamoah Gyan scored the only goal as Ghana defeated Nigeria 1-0 in sports betting.  Gyan scored in the 21st minute with a nice header off a Kwadwo Asamoah corner. Nigeria actually dominated much of the sports betting match but couldn’t score.  Richard Kingston played well in goal for Ghana and he helped them reach the final for the first time since 1992. “I told my players we were going to play to reach the final and not to produce beautiful football, only the result matters, it’s all about the result. Nigeria had a few good chances.” Ghana’s coach, Milovan Rajevac, said, “Our team is very young and we let them be dangerous because of this lack of experience. Defense is a very important thing in modern football.”

The third place sports betting game between Nigeria and Algeria will be played on Saturday.  Sports betting odds will be on the board for Sunday’s final between Egypt and Ghana. There is no question that Egypt will be heavily favored to win again in sports betting.
