Online sport betting is not going to be affected much on Top-ranked Florida but it should be noted they will be without star linebacker Brandon Spikes for the first half of Saturday’s game against Vanderbilt.
The Gators are 33.5 point sportsbetting favorites against Vanderbilt. Online sport betting saw the Gators roll over Georgia this past weekend but in the process Spikes tried to get to the eyes of Georgia running back Washaun Ealey. “I don’t condone that,” head coach Urban Meyer said. “I understand what goes on the football [field], but there’s no place for that. We’re going to suspend Brandon for the first half of the Vanderbilt game. I spoke with him. That’s not who he is. That’s not who we are. He got caught up in emotion.”
Spikes said he was retaliating for something that happened earlier in the game. Meyer talked with the SEC about the incident but it was Meyers who decided upon the suspension. “I accept responsibility for my actions and I accept the consequences of my actions,” Spikes said, “I would like to apologize to my team and the coaching staff and Washun Ealey. Football is a very physical and emotional game, but there is no excuse for my actions.”
The SEC agreed with the suspension issued by Florida. Spikes is fourth on the team with 42 tackles as sportsbetting notes. He has three sacks in the online sport betting season. He has been out at times with injury this season but against Georgia he had a team-high 10 tackles as online sport betting stats showed. He also had an interception return for a touchdown in Florida’s sportsbetting rout.
The online sport betting matchup between Florida and Georgia was a penalty filled mess. The two teams don’t like each other and both coaches have contributed to the problems. There were five personal-foul penalties in the game. Online sport betting had Georgia getting three of them and Florida picking up two. The officials tried to gain control of the online sport betting contest. Sportsbetting had them talking to Florida quarterback Tim Tebow and Georgia linebacker Marcus Dowtin in the second quarter and warned them about things getting out of control. “I don’t think that we did anything in that game that they didn’t do,” Tebow said, “If you go back and look at it and study it you can see it in the film, too. It was an intense game; both teams were very passionate about it.”
