Sports betting online saw the San Francisco Giants and Pittsburgh Pirates solidifying their outfields on Wednesday. The Giants signed Aubrey Huff to a one-year deal while the Pirates inked Ryan Church to a one-year contract.  Both players are capable of impacting sports betting results.

Sports betting online had the Giants looking for some offensive help. San Francisco had a very nice pitching staff last season but they struggled to score runs. They are hoping that Huff will add some pop to their lineup. Huff really didn’t have a good season a year ago as he hit a career-worst .241. He had 15 home runs and 85 RBIs as sports betting stats indicated. In 2008 he was very good though as he hit .304 with 32 home runs and 108 RBIs.

San Francisco general manager Brian Sabean really wanted a power hitting left-handed bat and he targeted Huff. It is likely that Huff will take over at first base next sports betting online season for the Giants.  Anything the Giants can get to help an anemic offense would be good sports betting results. The Giants were 29th out of the 30 teams in home runs last sports betting baseball season. They were not much better in total runs scored, ranking 26th as sports betting online numbers had it.

San Francisco has not made the playoffs since 2003 but they got close a year ago. They were 88-74 vs. the sports betting online odds a year ago.  San Francisco has been making some strides in the off-season to improve their offense. They already signed Mark DeRosa earlier in the off-season.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are hoping they have an outfielder that can impact their sports betting online results. The Pirates signed Ryan Church to a $1.5 million dollar, one-year contract.  Church battled injuries last season but still hit .273 with four home runs and 40 RBIs in 111 games.  The Pirates are looking at Church as their fourth outfielder but he could see a lot of playing time and even be the third outfielder depending upon how things go in spring training. In 2007, Church hit .272 with 15 home runs, 43 doubles and 70 RBIs in 144 games.  The Pirates are hoping he can put his injuries behind him and give them those types of numbers this season.  The Pirates really made the deal with Church incentive-laden as he gets more money based on how many plate appearances he has this sports betting online baseball season.
