Sport betting on Kansas was not very successful this season but that could change next year as the Jayhawks will have a new head coach. Online sports betting indicated that Buffalo head coach Turner Gil will take the Kansas head coaching job.

Sport betting saw Kansas have a tough season with head coach Mark Mangino facing all kinds of problems that eventually forced him to resign. Kansas athletic director Lew Perkins was thrilled to get Gil who led Buffalo to a MAC Championship in just his third season. “Turner Gill is a winner,” Perkins said, “His accomplishments at Buffalo speak for themselves.

But more than that, everyone I talked to about him, starting with Tom Osborne, had the highest praise for Turner as a coach and as a person.” Gil had an overall sport betting record of 20-30 at Buffalo. His best sport betting year was in 2008 when Buffalo won the MAC championship and went to a bowl game.

Gil is no stranger to the Midwest or to the fans at Kansas. He was a great quarterback for Nebraska in the early 1980s when they beat up on the Jayhawks. He will be expected to continue the resurgence of Kansas football under Mangino. Until this season, Kansas had been very good under Mangino but allegations surrounding Mangino rocked the Kansas program and eventually led to Mangino resigning after the season.

In 2007, Mangino led the Jayhawks to a 12-1 record and a sport betting win in the Orange Bowl. The Jayhawks also won last sport betting season as they made it to another bowl game. This online sports betting season, the Jayhawks started 5-0 but then lost their last seven games.

Kansas finished this season 5-7 straight up and 3-8 against the sport betting odds. It was definitely a poor season for the Jayhawks considering they had star quarterback Todd Reesing throwing for over 3,600 yards this season. The Jayhawks lost six of their last seven against the online sports betting odds with their only cover coming in the last game of the season as they lost by two points to Missouri.

Buffalo was just 5-7 this season and 5-6-1 against the online sports betting odds. Gil was much more of a hot commodity for a head coaching position last year after Buffalo’s big season but Kansas decided to go with him as their choice now.
