Online sport betting had catcher Joe Mauer of the Minnesota Twins winning the American League Most Valuable Player Award on Monday. He was almost a unanimous selection as he received 27 of 28 first-place votes. Sportsbetting had New York’s Mark Teixeira finishing second and New York’s Derek Jeter finishing third.
Online sport betting saw Mauer become the second Minnesota player to win the award in the last three years as Justin Morneau won it in 2006. The other top finishers in the voting were Detroit’s Miguel Cabrera who was fourth followed by the Angels’ Kendry Morales.
Mauer had an amazing season for Minnesota as the Twins did well in online sport betting yet again. Mauer set a record for the highest batting average ever by a catcher. It was Mauer’s third batting title in his career. He is the first player to lead the league in batting in consecutive seasons since Nomar Garciaparra did it in 1999 and 2000. “I love catching. I love the demands that are put on me and the responsibilities that I have, although it might beat you up a little bit physically and mentally,” Mauer said. “I like being back there making those decisions, you know, for my team.”
Mauer led the league in batting as he hit .365. That was not all though for the Twins slugger as online sport betting showed. He led the league in on-base percentage (.444) and slugging percentage (.587). He is the first player in the American League to lead the league in all three categories in the same online sport betting season since Kansas City’s George Brett did it in 1980.
Sportsbetting stats had Mauer setting career highs with 28 homers and 96 RBIs. What is amazing is that he missed the first month of the sportsbetting season with an injury. He had more walks this sportsbetting season than strikeouts. Mauer was so good that he even hit well after the Twins lost Justin Morneau to injury. Minnesota overtook Detroit to win the AL Central title as online sport betting results showed. Online sports betting had Mauer going to his third All-Star game and he also won his second straight AL Gold Glove.
The Twins will look to resign Mauer since he becomes a free agent after next online sport betting season. “I’ve always said it will happen when it needs to happen and I truly believe that,” Mauer said. “I’m not the kind of guy that, you know, says by this date we need to have something done.”
