Online Sports Betting – J.J. Favored at Atlanta

Online Sports Betting – J.J. Favored at Atlanta.  Jimmie Johnson is the online sports betting favorite to win this week’s NASCAR race in Atlanta. Johnson is not having the dominant season he had a year ago but he is still going to make the Chase and he has had some success in Atlanta.  Johnson is the 6-1 favorite in offshore sports betting. There are five drivers with single-digit odds at Sbg global.com. Johnson is 6-1; Kurt Busch is 7-1 while Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon and Kevin Harvick are each 9-1.

Who Can Win?  Who is likely to win this weekend in Atlanta?   What we want is a driver who has done well in Atlanta and who is also motivated to win as the Chase approaches.  Jimmie Johnson has the best driver rating in Atlanta by far but he simply is not winning as many races this year.  Jeff Gordon has the next best number followed by Carl Edwards, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Tony Stewart. Other contenders based on their past history in Atlanta should be Kurt Busch, Matt Kenseth, Greg Biffle, Denny Hamlin and Kasey Kahne.  That list is pretty long so we need to narrow it down.

Narrowing the Contenders – Kurt Busch is 10th in points and he has seven top ten finishes and he has won three times in Atlanta.  Kurt Busch is someone to consider in online sports betting. Carl Edwards is fourth in points and has eight top 10’s and three wins in Atlanta. He is a contender. Jeff Gordon is second in points and has 23 top 10’s and four wins in Atlanta. He is a contender. Tony Stewart has 13 top 10’s and two wins so he has a chance. Kasey Kahne is 16th in points but he has eight top 10’s and two wins.  He is worth a long shot wager.

Greg Biffle is 11th in points and has nine top ten finishes in Atlanta.  The problem is he doesn’t win so throw him out. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is a driver you can’t bet right now until he wins. Throw him out.  Denny Hamlin has just three top 10’s in Atlanta so throw him out.  Jimmie Johnson has 11 top 10’s and three wins but he is overvalued. Matt Kenseth has good overall numbers in Atlanta but he never wins. Throw him out.

The Picks:  Kurt Busch is a solid choice to win. He has won two of the last three races in Atlanta.  Carl Edwards is another strong consideration at offshore sports betting odds of 10.5 to 1 and Kasey Kahne is the long shot pick although his odds are not that long at 10.5 to 1.
