The Michigan Wolverines were a major disaster this past season vs. the online sports betting odds under head coach Rich Rodriguez. Perhaps it will be better next season in offshore sports betting with Brady Hoke as he head coach. The Wolverines hired Hoke on Tuesday, choosing him over LSU head coach Les Miles.
Michigan was thought to be looking at LSU head coach Les Miles but some in the Michigan hierarchy really didn’t want Miles. He turned them down three years ago and many at Michigan have not forgotten that. The school chose instead to go with San Diego State’s Brady Hoke. The school would have liked to have had a coach who went to Michigan but at least with Hoke they get a man who was a former Michigan assistant coach. Athletic Director Dave Brandon had to save face after getting turned down by Stanford’s Jim Harbaugh so he went with the hottest name out there in Hoke.
Hoke Replaces Rodriguez
Hoke was the head coach at Ball State for six years and then was the head coach at San Diego State for the past two seasons. Hoke was a defensive line coach at Michigan and was on the staff in 1997 when Michigan won a national title. Hoke takes over for Rodriguez who went 15-22 in three seasons. Rodriguez was a major disappointment for the University of Michigan and we went winless in the big rivalry games against Ohio State and Michigan State. Hoke comes into a good situation as Michigan still has a marquee name and he really can’t do any worse than Rodriguez did in his time with the Wolverines.
Michigan 3-10 ATS
The Wolverines were one of the worst teams in all of college football this past season against the offshore sports betting number as they went 3-10. They can really only go up from that rotten number and it should be noted that San Diego State with Brady Hoke went 9-4 ATS this season. The Wolverines under Rodriguez were a go-against team on a weekly basis in college football betting but with Hoke as their head coach it is possible that Michigan will be improved next season and the Wolverines might actually be worth an online sports betting wager at the Sbg global sportsbook.
